Hi there - you left a comment on my blog and I thought I would stop by and have a look around. I love your pictures and your stories. I read through your archives and I really like the chapters of your book. I know how you feel about the depression and medication. I was on Celexa for a while myself with them upping the dosage over and over until they changed the medication - btw the anti-depressants could have had an impact on your weight, they are kind of a well known culprit for that.
Well now that I've blabbed your ear off, I'll be on my way but I'll be back. Live in Peace.

Lost, stop by and blab anytime. Thanks for your kind words. As for the weight...it's not the medication, (which I have not taken in 3 months) it's the lack of exercise and too much beer. Although Guinness has ounce for ounce the same amount of calories as skim milk, six skim milks are a lot of calories. I've grown into this guy with no ass and extended abs. 15 - 20 Lbs and I'd be okay. Wish I could have them take it from my belly and stick it in my ass...hey! That didn't sound right! Well anyway....

Many of you have heard me tell the story of my time within the Christian mainstream in the seventies. Yes, I was a Jesus freak. It was common for us to hit the streets and "Preach Jesus." I enjoyed this part of the "outreach ministry" and I sincerely wanted people that were facing periods of intense insecurity to pray; To ask Jesus to enter their lives and offer them guidance and salvation. I did not ask them to join my church, to come meet with my group or to take my advice as to where they might begin to look for spiritual guidance. I made the mistake in believing that God was big enough, that Jesus was capable of, helping and guiding someone who had enough faith and hope to just ask for it. Happy Valentine's day!!!!

Yeah, yeah, I know. Hallmark day. Just a bunch of crap to make us spend money that we don't have. But that's one man's opinion. Could it be that some dolts NEED specially marked holidays to have them stop and acknowledge their honeys? For me, its different. You see, this week, (2/17) the Lady and me got married. TWENTY-NINE YEARS AGO. That's right. You heard it right. And most of my good buds have been married for as long or longer than we. We think the same thoughts at the same time. We are comfortable and have fun together. As I write, we are for the second time in our years together, in deep financial straights. Hand to mouth. A struggle to eat, to heat, to keep our heads above water. And you know what? I'm as happy as a murder of crows. The Lady and I met at bible study. TaoSpring - pallet chicken coop

I had less than a month to build a suitable coop and chicken run. I had very little money to work with. Having seen many coops and out buildings that people have assembled using scrap pallets, I thought that I would give it a try. Starting with two 4 x 8 pallets as the floor, I assembled all the available pallets that I could find. This is the frame of the coop. It will measure approximately 8ft x 8ft. Saltbox style roof will be 9 feet at the front and will taper down to 8 1/4 feet in the back. My inspiration is drawn from the bottom photo   seen here. I varied the plans to accommodate the unevenness of available pallet size. In a perfect world a 4' x 4' pallet would make pallet building as easy as playing with Lego's. Unfortunately downsizing has effected everything.
