DON'T READ THIS BLOG!

We all have had those friends that leave us feeling refreshed for having spent our time with them. At times, it would appear that all others are but"psychic vampires" sucking our necks in an attempt to turn us into one of them. I have discovered that there are less and less of these refreshing relationships to be found; and I know that it has to start with me.
But it is unlikely that you will be reading about anything too uplifting, inspiring or refreshing here. This makes it very difficult to comment on this blog. Although I do get many readers per week, I find it difficult to know why anyone would want to return. Morbid curiosity? A closer look at what it is to hear from a curmudgeon?
There are things to which I could report, "Bravo," but I am too disgusted and depressed to address those things. I am amazed at our communal effort to keep our heads buried in the sands of distraction when there is much injustice happening right before our eyes. But again, I am often reminded of the song lyric;

I'd love to change the world,
but I don't know what to do.
So I leave it up to you.

It has been said, "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
The Declaration states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
Pierced themselves through with many sorrows.......Is it any wonder that there are very few people left that have any level of faith left in the direction of this government.

Major General Smedley D. Butler told the truth all too well in his book,

who once said. There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.
Where in the hell are we going?
The Government has no interest in our happiness and safety.
The Church has turned any potential redemptive blood of Christ into dirty dishwater.
Business, that once touted the managerial laurels of "In search of Excellence" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Search_of_Excellence
have focused on profit, low wages, little health care and exported American jobs in an effort to succeed.
Health care is best for the elected and most profitable for the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. Community Mental Health resources are as equally weak as they were before the advent of psychotropics and out patient care for the war veterans will be a dismal realization that will make a great show for DATELINE but will affect little change.
We are being sold out and I want to know what are we going to do about it.
Nothing. That's what. Just bury our heads in the sand and hope that our job is safe, that we don't get sick, that the war does not effect us......

I find honesty about struggle, depression and anger pretty darn refreshing in a world full of self-promoting blogs.
