The pot calling the kettle black (no pun intended)

The Bible say that "by their fruits you shall know them." I long ago understood that human beings have a grand ability to justify any horrific deed as being something "good in the long run." You know, the ol' "the ends justify the means" kind of logic. And none of this is new. But when you seriously speak with some of these guys you soon come to realize how easily we could become a religious state or a police state or entertain the possibility of another Nazi Party and the SS.
Its all about anxiety and control and fear and greed. More often than not those that profess "God" have more fear within their hearts than anything even resembling faith. The early Christians were to a great extent the first "Socialists" but America's "Kings Kids" scream about the idea as if it were leprosy. I can see why. We have become so not unlike pigs in a trough that I'd be nervous too that I wasn't getting enough. But when is enough, enough? Really? How much money does one man need?
But the quest for power; now that's a whole other ball game. "Its not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game" is an ideology for idiots. You have to lie, scrape, cheat, steal and ask God's blessing. That is the way of it. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition, God Dammit!
Truth is, I feel like we are surrounded by border collies and we like sheep are herded between the posts and barrels and ultimately corralled just in time for a shearing or the slaughter.
Once it was Kings and Lords and Popes. Now its rich men wanting more and more while telling you to be patriotic and God fearing good little boys and girls.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Hallmark day. Just a bunch of crap to make us spend money that we don't have. But that's one man's opinion. Hanging tomatoes not so sweet afterall

Spring arrived and she couldn't wait to plant grape tomatoes in my hanging garden. We excitedly checked the plants daily until the small green tomatoes formed from the tiny yellow flowers. Green Beans that were planted at the base came early. We ate them raw. We steamed them. This was great! So the day finally arrived where the very first grape tomato was ready and Brielle had the honors. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite what she expected. Her face and mouth screnched up in horror at the taste. "I don't like grape tomatoes", she said. And promptly, in a very unlady like gesture, spit it out. But she still loves to pick them. And the early girls too.

TaoSpring - pallet chicken coop

I had less than a month to build a suitable coop and chicken run. I had very little money to work with. Having seen many coops and out buildings that people have assembled using scrap pallets, I thought that I would give it a try. Starting with two 4 x 8 pallets as the floor, I assembled all the available pallets that I could find. This is the frame of the coop. It will measure approximately 8ft x 8ft. Saltbox style roof will be 9 feet at the front and will taper down to 8 1/4 feet in the back. My inspiration is drawn from the bottom photo   seen here. I varied the plans to accommodate the unevenness of available pallet size. In a perfect world a 4' x 4' pallet would make pallet building as easy as playing with Lego's. Unfortunately downsizing has effected everything.
