Seeking John

Last night I dreamed that John stopped by my flat. He looked slightly unkempt and wore the clothes of the working man. Although we both know that he is rather wealthy, this is John. Never precocious, a little uncomfortable in his own skin but never appearing as being nervous.
He stopped in without calling, knowing that for him, the door was always open. Although that was once true for anyone who came to call, it is now more the exception than the rule. We had our usual small talk as he went right for the pot of stew on the cooker. Not bothering for a bowl, he vigorously ate several spoonfuls before moving onto something else.
"I always liked this one," he said.
I sat amused by his choice of tunes.
I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh.........................
I understood John in that wordless way, and he, me. Complex in our simplicity and wishing everyone well; for in so doing we recognize that we are seeking wellness for ourselves as well.
I miss John and I know that he also misses me. We have lost our way somehow and are no where to be found except in pictures and by memory. They say that time heals all wounds. I'm still waiting for John's wounds to heal and he is also anxious for mine as well.
God is a Concept by which
we measure our pain
I'll say it again
God is a Concept by which
we measure our pain
I don't believe in magic
I don't believe in I-ching
I don't believe in Bible
I don't believe in Tarot
I don't believe in Hitler
I don't believe in Jesus
I don't believe in Kennedy
I don't believe in Buddha
I don't believe in Mantra
I don't believe in Gita
I don't believe in Yoga
I don't believe in Kings
I don't believe in Elvis
I don't believe in Zimmerman
I don't believe in Beatles
I just believe in me...
and that reality
The dream is over
What can I say?
the Dream is Over
Yesterday
I was the Dreamweaver
But now I'm reborn
I was the Walrus
But now I'm John
and so dear friends
you'll just have to carry on
The Dream is over

"The unknown is what it is. And to be frightened of it is
What sends everybody scurrying around chasing dreams,
Illusions, wars, peace, love, hate, all that. Unknown is
What it is. Accept that it's unknown, and it's plain sailing."

~John Lennon
